In this research, we aim to develop applicable principles and methods to scaffold the newcomers' skill acquisition as they onboard into an Open Source Software (OSS) project. This research brings new insights that can improve how newcomers onboard to software projects and to open source communities. This project encompasses different types of empirical studies and devvelopment of tools to help matching skills of tasks and developers.
